Grant Matthews | Precision Wellness | Massage Therapist
We will be presenting the field of massage therapy, a branch of healthcare dealing with muscular health issues and the interaction of that system with the rest of the body and total wellness. Students interested in healthcare and fitness, who are strong in biological sciences, hands-on learners, and/or those with a call to service or caregiving career may find this an interesting career. We will be coming with three presenters: myself, Mrs. Sam Burton, and Ms. Beth Grogan, all L.M.T.s (Licensed Massage Therapists). We intend to share information about different educational and vocational pathways that can lead to or prepare one for this career. We will also share information on the practical skills needed in this job, the practical considerations of the career, and what legal requirements there are to become an L.M.T. in the state of Missouri. Depending on timing, we'd also like to leave room for a Q & A session with the students attending. The hope is that students attending these sessions come away with a solid idea of what skills and motivations would help them become good therapists, and what different pathways they may pursue to achieve the necessary credentials.
